Desktop Devotional: Eleven

Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.

1 Chronicles 16:11

In my devotion today I realized that my best efforts in life are found seeking the face of God.  The days can get pretty mundane with routines for work, managing life, and other tasks we feel necessary to accomplish.  However, in all of our efforts to achieve life’s goals, our best can be found seeking Godly things, thus God in his entirety.

Did you know that anything you desire more than God can be considered an idol?  Facts. When we aspire to pursue life our own way, and get what we want, we blot God out of our entire consciousness.  Once we let the light of God shine on our pursuits, we yield the right of passage to God. In that, we begin to see life and our goals from His perspective (a Godly perspective).  If your goals fit in the plans God has for you, He will help you to achieve. If your goals are contrary to His will for you, he will gradually change your desire to match what he has for you.  I can witness that for my entire life! Nothing went the way I planned it, because life turned out so much sweeter! I thank God! Family, here is a basic principle for life, and it is supported by scripture:  “Seek God first and foremost, then the rest of your life will fall into place, piece by piece.”

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Matthew 6:33
